The Joyeris Semilia or “seed jewelry” is created in a fair-trade workshop high in the Andean town of Villa de Leyva, Columbia. This mountain workshop provides jobs and services to young people struggling with alcohol, prostituting, begging, and thievery…the all too common corollaries of poverty.
